At the Center for Relational Recovery when working with couples, we see the relationship between two people, as our client. The relationship is its own entity in need of support, care and tending. We teach couples to think about their relationship in this way and to learn how to care for their relationship, deepen the connection between them and create the safety and trust that enables the couple to repair and work through issues that arise.
We utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Couples developed by Dr. Sue Johnson as the primary modality in treating couples. EFT teaches couples how to recognize the deeper emotional dynamics that are happening between them (often below the surface) and how to emotionally reach for one another in ways that create safety, attraction, connection and joy.

CRR also offers the Hold Me Tight workshop series twice each year which teaches couples the fundamentals of Emotionally Focused Therapy. This workshop is a great launching pad for couples in trouble who need a starting point for beginning to repair the relationship.
