Spotlight on Recovery Resources and Inspiration

Every month we will bring ideas and information on resources, media, or tools that you may find inspirational, motivating, or helpful in your recovery journey. This month I am highlighting a great app designed for promoting success in recovery.

rtribe

The R|Tribe app is a great tool for those in recovery and especially friendly for those in recovery from sex and porn addiction. Dubbed “A Recovery Tool for the Digital Age,” the app provides easy access to your network of recovery friends, along with recovery tools for motivation as you track sobriety achievements and identify your own triggering factors, and lots of learning options through videos and blogs with personal stories and entertaining educational info.

One of the principal concepts behind the app is portrayed in the logo design of a wolf. As wolves travel in packs for their protection and are highly social, we know successful recovery requires a “pack” or tribe of fellow recovery travelers. At CRR we are strong proponents of the concept that to find freedom in recovery, rather than struggle with “white knuckling,” we must be connected in relationship and community. This user friendly and graphically attractive app facilitates this connection with others with the ease of pushing a button to ask for support at those difficult moments from your own network of recovery friends or you can post your request to the R|Tribe network at large. Some of our clients at CRR have told us this app helped them to reach out in those triggered moments where otherwise they would have resisted making a call.

Developed by a fellow CSAT (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist), Alex Lerza and his co-developer Josh Kalsbeek, they bring their therapeutic expertise to the app, and as fellow addicts, they bring their personal insight and respectful acceptance to the content. The app is available on both iPhone and Android platforms. It is easy to get up and running, is flexible to personalize it to your preferences or needs, and is inviting to use. Like so many things, you will get out of it as much as you put into it. If you choose to check in frequently and take advantage of its features, R|Tribe could be a great tool for your recovery success.
