I’ve recently discovered a great podcast called Thanks for Sharing. Dubbing their program as “the place for all things recovery, healing, and relationships,” the podcast Thanks for Sharing is hosted by Jonathan Taylor and Jackie Pack.
Their style is warm and conversational as they interview guests or discuss their own issue of the day. Both Jonathan and Jackie are therapists – licensed clinical social workers and CSATs. They are based in Bountiful, Utah and provide their services through Healing Paths Recovery.
The podcast explores a variety of topics that are pertinent to both those struggling with sex addiction as well as their partners. Jonathan and Jackie talk to people in recovery as well as professionals in the field on current and relevant topics to recovery, sex addiction, and related topics of sexual health and harm.
Part of what impresses me about this program is they conduct interviews with many that are influential and regarded as well-respected experts in the community of CSAT (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist) professionals. This includes Rob Weiss with his book Out of the Doghouse, Vicki Tidwell-Palmer and her book, Moving Beyond Betrayal, Ken Adams with When He’s Married to Mom, and Alex Katehakis speaking on the “Me Too” movement and the recent burst of sexual misconduct allegations. They’ve covered subjects such as trust, shame and addiction, sexism, step studies, and recovery coaching, just to name a few.
Another characteristic of the show I found attractive is it values story as an avenue to connection and healing. They share from their own lives with some vulnerability and employ the story of others as tools of learning and facilitating growth in others. They present issues and topics that revolve around people’s lives, stories of their life journey, in themselves and their guests, presented with compassion and authenticity.
The podcast is posted about four times a month. It is really worth a listen. You’ll find it on Podbean, their own Healing Paths site, and other podcast distribution sites.
