Love Sense: The Revolutionary New Science of Romantic Relationships by Dr. Sue Johnson

Sue Johnson is the founder of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, an attachment-based approach that helps couple build a safe bond with one another that allows intimacy to flourish. While Johnson has written several books on EFT this is her most popular seller as it provides an eye-opening window into what makes us fall in love, what sustains our love and how we can deepen and foster the love in our relationships.  Highly recommended for any and all couples to read individually or together.

Blind to Betrayal: Why We Fool Ourselves We Aren’t Being Fooled by Jennifer Freyd and Pamela Birrell

If you are in a relationship with an addict or are dealing with infidelity in your relationship this is a must read for you. Jennifer Freyd has done some of the seminal research on betrayal trauma and in this book, she looks at the way that our fear of losing our relationship can make us suffer from Betrayal Blindness – the process of simultaneously knowing but not knowing things. If you have been lied to or Gaslighted in your relationship, this book will help you understand what and how you may have been susceptible to your partner’s manipulation.
