The Verbally Abusive Relationship: How to Recognize it and How to Respond

By Patricia Evans

This class bestseller is an oldie but such a goody. If you are a betrayed partner and have been lied to, manipulated or in other ways gaslighted in your relationship, this book is a must read.  The first half of the book focuses on helping you to understand the dynamics behind verbal abuse and power dynamics within a relationship. The second part of the book, helps you as the reader, begin to spot when verbal abuse is happening and gives you strategies for dealing with in in an effective manner.  A vital part of healing from betrayal trauma is working through mistrust that has damaged the relationship through repeated and chronic verbal deception. This book is an invaluable tool for the healing process.
