Over the coming weeks we want to introduce you to members of CRR’s Clinical Team who you may not yet know. This week we invite you to take a few minutes to get to know a little bit more about Bruce Butler.
Bruce Butler has been a member of the Clinical Team at the Center for Relational Recovery since 2013. Bruce specializes in treating individuals and couples dealing with relational (marital) conflict, sex addiction, and childhood trauma. Bruce has been working with adolescents and adults for over 20 years in different capacities. He believes it is his calling and he enjoys it daily.
Bruce is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia. He is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and is currently completing his training for certification in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples.
Bruce believes that the essence of a good relationship is to authentically be known and know one another. Here is some personal information to know about him. Bruce was born and reared in Washington DC. He loves to encourage people. He really enjoys the spring and fall months, and If he had to choose between the beach or mountains, he would choose the mountains…thanks to the movie Jaws for that choice.
Looks can be deceiving, but yes, he is a Disc Jockey (hobby), and a lover of most genres of music. Due to his commute, he listens to books more than he reads them. There are no action movies that he and his daughter do not enjoy. The most meaningful and favorable part of his life is spending time with his wife (date nights, travel, and sharing in laughter). He is a member of the Media ministry and co-facilitator of the Pre-Marital Ministry at his home church in Washington DC.
